 Children's Education Programme

The children's education programme operates Monday to Friday 08:00 - 13:00.  It provides basic education for children over the age of six who do not attend school.

Many school aged children in the DRC are not enrolled in the public school system.  This is due to various reasons, the DRC is a very mobile community in that many of the individuals residing in the DRC come and go from their farms in the north of the country.  Many of the children of the DRC therefore also come and go at odd intervals, because of this many parents are not able to enroll their children since they often come after school enrollment dates.  Another important factor is that while parents do not have to pay school fees if they are unable to, they still have to provide their children with school supplies and they are often unable to do that.  Whatever the reason may be for each particular family, the DRC School Project & Community Centre is working in the community to provide a much needed service.

There are currently twenty seven children enrolled in this programme.
